In 2007, 21 year-old Yung Berg released his first solo album – Look What You Made Me. But despite the impression, Berg wasn't another "out of nowhere" talent bursting on to the hip hop scene. No. The album release was the culmination of a six-year career reboot. Chi-town's Yung Berg had his first taste of fame at 15, as Ice Berg, and then was sent off to military school by his parents, who didn't like where things (and their son) were going.
This time Yung Berg is calling the shots, after putting in time to see the music biz from the inside – working as a hype for Shawnna, as a writer for other albums, and as a guest on Clinton Sparks mixtapes. Self-assured and charismatic, Berg also has a musical flow that, more than anything, will set him apart for his peers, and promises a career worth watching. |
