Never heard about Yonkers as a hometown for rap? Then you never heard about the 1994 neighborhood where Styles P grew up, rapping with Sheek, Judakiss and Kasaan. Calling themselves The Lox (Living Off Experience) the group recorded with P Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. before cutting their own first album - Money, Power & Respect.
In 2002 Styles P released his first solo album, A Gangster and a Gentleman, and scored with two album hits - My Life, and Good Times (I Get Hi). Featured artist gigs followed with a raft of heavy hitters including Akon, Ghostface Killah and of course Judakiss. As well as two monster mixtape releases - Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Machine.
The release of the hot single Blow Your Mind featuring Swizz Beats, primed the mob for the latest Styles P album - SuperGangster (Extraordinary Gentleman). With guests by Akon, Beanie Sigel, Black Thought of the Roots, Ghostface Killah, Judakiss, Ray J, Sheek Louch, and more, Styles P looks positioned to take over the top spot a last. |
