Favored son Juvenile was born with the government name Terius Gray. After starting his rap career while in his teens, he released a 1995 album on Warlock Records titled Being Myself. After making some noise around town he eventually crossed paths with Cash Money label owners Ronald "Suga Slim" and Brian "Baby Williams", who dropped Solja Rags; the album was a major underground hit, and set the stage for the release of heater 400 Degreez.
Soon after signing a new contract with Asylum/Atlantic Records, Hurricane Katrina destroyed Juvenile's Slidell, Louisiana home. After taking such a hit it was only natural that Juvenile used his new release Reality Check to shine the light on what went wrong in New Orleans. |
